Driver Training
(Behind-the-wheel)
Tri-Valley’s Driver Training program consists of 6 hours of professional behind-the-wheel instruction. For your convenience this course is divided into three lessons, two hours each. Students will learn basic driving skills to operate a motor vehicle safely, proper driving techniques, and will prepare them to pass the DMV drive test. We offer free home, school or work pick-up and return (within the same vicinity). Lessons are offered Monday thru Saturday (mornings, afternoon, and evenings).
Upon completion of course, students will receive a certificate of completion as required by the DMV. Students will also receive an evaluation form for their parents that will indicate which specific driving task areas need improvement.
Driver Training Vehicles:
Tri-Valley Driving School only operates dependable, late-model training vehicles. Our fleet includes 2008 Scion xBs, 2007 Honda Civic Coupes, 2006 PT Cruisers. All cars are automatic with air conditioning and are equipped with both gas and brake on the passenger side of vehicle. TVDS logos are on the doors. There is NO sign on the top of the car nor are there any flashing lights!
Behind-The-Wheel Training is given in:
Alamo – Blackhawk – Danville – Dublin – Livermore - Pleasanton - San Ramon and other nearby communities.
The rates below are effective 06/06/08 and relate only to the Tri-Valley area. Additional fees may apply if outside these locations.Fee:
$336 for 6-hour Driver Training program
$112 per additional 2-hour professional lesson
$165 for DMV drive test appointment
Requirements: Must have Driver Education Certificate
New Law 2004: Teenagers under 17 ½ must be enrolled in driver training prior to taking their permit test. Once you register and prepay for one lesson, TVDS will issue you a certificate of enrollment, which is needed to take the permit test at the DMV. After student passes the permit test they should call TVDS to schedule their first behind-the-wheel lesson.
